The historic seaport tour departs at Havenexperience De Terminal and heads toward the Eastern Islands. Here there are all kinds of great stories about the glorious past of Amsterdam's shipbuilding and repair industry. And trade! The guide on board will also tell you why shipping companies and trading houses in Amsterdam were called "Warehouse of the World" through the 18th century.
We start the tour in the IJ harbor and set course for the Eastern Islands. Then the cruise heads towards Amsterdam's ring of canals and we conclude on the IJ. At that point, as a participant in this trip, you will have more than 300 years of seaport history behind you and we will return to the present, with the ship repair yards of Damen Shiprepair and -Oranjewerf on the banks of Noord.
Cost
The Historic Seaport Tour is a tour developed especially for Seaport Days and not offered during the rest of the year. We conduct the tour in 1.5 hours with an adept guide and we believe that the content of his narration is suitable for persons 16 years and older. The cost per person is €22.50.
Departure point
The Historic Seaport Tour begins at the center of activities during Zeehavendagen Amsterdam 2024. You check in with your ticket at the Passenger Terminal Amsterdam and from there walk across the Jan Schaefer Bridge to the departure point on the Javakade.
