Tate & Lyle is a British multinational agribusiness company. They focus primarily on producing and marketing ingredients for the food, beverage and industrial markets. One of their most well-known products is Tate & Lyle starch, but they also produce a variety of other food ingredients. In addition, they have a division that produces industrial ingredients.
The Koog aan de Zaan plant has played a very important role in the modernization of the starch processing industry. Separation technology (known as "Dorrclone technology") was invented in the Netherlands and first tested at this plant.
