Zaanstad Seaport Days

The program concentrates on the Zaan near the old Verkadefabriek (Westzijde 188) and includes guided tours of the Zaan, ships on the Westzijde that can be visited, sailing heritage (trade and navy), entertainment for children and catering. Restaurant JP 1886 on the Westzijde is closely involved in organizing the event.

Do-activities for adults and children
At the same location, so-called 'manufacturing companies' from Zaanstad will present themselves to their 'neighbors' with information and do-activities. They will also display their vacancies and open their doors for tours exclusively during Zeehavendagen Zaanstad. Participants in Zeehavendagen Zaanstad include Verkade, Tate&Lyle, Ahold Delhaize Coffee Company, cocoa terminal Vollers-CTVrede-GAM Bakker, Cargill (cocoa factories Aurora, De Eenhoorn and Jonker) and Royal Duyvis-Wiener. Afvalzorg BV in nearby Nauerna is also organizing tours and is opening a real "lookout" on the "Green Ship" across the North Sea Canal that overlooks Zaanstad, among other things. The Omgevingsdienst will also come to explain what they do.
