Virgin cruise ship Valiant (238m.) walks in and out of IJmuiden harbor
The cruise ship Valiant Lady enters the port of IJmuiden for a one-off departure from the Monnickendam quay. A first, as it is the first time that a Virgin Voyages ship calls at the Netherlands.
The second new-build ship of flamboyant businessman Richard Branson after the Scarlet Lady departs April 24 from Felison Cruise Terminal for a 6-day cruise to Portsmouth, England. The only destination on the itinerary is Zeebrugge including an overnight stay. Prices start from $1,092 for an inside cabin for two.
6-day cruise
The brand new Vailant Lady, which has just completed her 'mer' maiden voyage, was originally scheduled to sail to the Canary Islands in late April. However, these plans were canceled due to a lucrative charter. Affected passengers who had already booked will receive a 150% future travel credit and the chance to sail on the 6-day cruise from IJmuiden for free when rebooking.
17 decks
The Valiant Lady (278 meters long and 38 meters wide) can accommodate 2,800 guests and 1,150 crew members. The passenger ship has 17 decks, 13 of which can be used by guests. Virgin ordered three cruise ships of the size of the Valiant Lady several years ago worth more than USD 2 billion. The third ship has yet to be built.
