Councilman Groot Wassink opens Youth Day
Panna tournament by the water and a DJ contest in De Terminal. On Saturday, June 24, Zeehavendagen Amsterdam organizes the Jongerendag Nieuw - West together with Gemeente Amsterdam. Alderman Rutger Groot Wassink and harbor master Milembe Mateyo will open the tournament.
Opportunities in the port are plentiful. Internships and well-paying jobs at the companies can be found in the port of Amsterdam. Working in the chocolate the chocolate industry or container logistics? Or setting up a social media for a shipyard? The Youth Day will introduce the target group to the port in a fun and informal way.
Zeehavendagen Amsterdam bus in Nieuw - West
Young people who want to participate in the Youth Day can book free tickets on the website or register at the Youth Point Nieuw - West. At noon and at 1 p.m., the Seaport Days bus will stop at Osdorpplein to transport young people free of charge to The Terminal in Westhaven.
After a catered lunch, the opening ceremony of the panna tournament will begin around 2 p.m. The alderman together with the harbor master will symbolically kick off the first ball. And then it will erupt! Who will go home with the first Port Pan trophy? Besides a sporting competition, there will also be a Seaport Days draw. And what can you win? Patta's, of course! The winner will go home with a big fat gift certificate for a pair of sneakers of your choice.

Boating and things to do
In and around The Terminal, there are also all kinds of things to do and see. Port of Amsterdam periodically gives tours for small groups in the NCC. You can test your sailing skills around the water tank with remote-controlled boats, descend into a diving tank in the water, sail with a simulator or escape from the escape room sailboat moored at the quay.
Demonstrations and workshops
Zeehavendagen Amsterdam is hosting regular demonstrations and workshops for four days in which the public can participate. The program includes demos sniffer dogs and smuggling container from Customs.
Educations & employers technical, logistics and maritime
Amidst the fascinating port life, you will also find a number of representatives of technical, logistics and maritime educations in the Havenexperience, so that high school students, lateral entrants and students can get their bearings. There are also several employers present who will be happy to tell you more about professions in the port!
