Stichting NDSM-Herleeft opens its doors during Zeehavendagen Amsterdam for visitors interested in the glorious history of the NDSM (Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij). Discover how the shipyard originated, moved from the Oosterdok to Amsterdam-Noord, how it got through the war, further progress and development, and ultimately the demise of this once the largest shipyard in the Netherlands. In addition, our reception and information center the Blueprint is a small museum, where all kinds of things can be seen.

The former NDSM (Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij) in Amsterdam-North has a rich history. The shipyard and the buildings are in full development. Artists, developers, inventors, tourists, architects or festival-goers, everyone has their own view of this historic location.

Everyone agrees on one thing: the character of NDSM must remain intact, and Stichting NDSM-Herleeft, with its volunteers, does everything in its power to preserve this imposing heritage. The result is that slowly but surely the realisation is dawning that more attention should be paid to the almost lost branch of industry, the nautical industry in Amsterdam.
