According to TMA Logistics, the service provides a detour to avoid traffic congestion on the busy A4 highway by taking freight off the road. The company also highlights sustainability as a benefit of the newly offered service. Namely, it offers an opportunity to use transport that is more environmentally friendly than freight transport.

Multimodal offerings

TMA is a major barge company in the Netherlands. As a result, the train shuttle service will be integrated with TMA's other logistics services to offer multimodal transportation options. Combined with the company's cargo ships, TMA offers 29 departures per week between the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
